Dance On Camera

In these uncertain times, there is a question about digital art forms. Dance artist Martina Nevistić has interest in work that combines movement and other media, in order to present choreography in new formats and approaches to work. Artist will present and elaborate her work, referring to her video dance projects "Sisyphus Pink" (2013), "Apollonian"(2017) and "Pulsar"(2019) and introduce her thoughts on topic of the choreography of the frame, over the choreography of the body. Artist will share her statement about dance video art, how she sees this double action, meta-choreography, which allowed her to re-organize understanding of the different relationships between the environment of the movement of the frame and the environment of the physical movement; i.e. the relationship between the moving body and the moving image (video), the moving body and the still image (photography) and the moving body and the framed space (stage); and how these different combinations contribute a different perception of the viewer and optic of watching.

Martina Nevistić is born in 1983 in Zagreb, Croatia. Also, she is doing organization and teaching. She gained her MA in organization and management from University of Zagreb, and in dance at SEAD, Austria. She was a scholar of two international programs, Nomad Dance Academy (2009) and Communicating dance (2014-2015). She was leading art organization O.N.E. and was a member as a dancer of Zagreb Dance Company. Also, she teaches improvisation and yoga. Since November 2016, she is Program Director in Zagreb Dance Center.
